Diesel Mechanic I

Under General direction of senior staff or management, you will preform skilled mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on automotive, HD equipment, trucks, and power equipment. You will be expected to keep your general area safe and clean while also helping coworkers with additional tasks as needed.

We are looking for a Mechanic who specializes in working on heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, and regular vehicle maintenance. A DTS HD Truck Mechanic will be responsible for:

  1. Diagnosing engine problems 

  2. Diagnosing computer systems

  3. Maintaining drive trains, oil systems, and transmissions 

  4. Inspecting and repairing air brakes 

  5. Conducting performance tests 

  6. Replacing defective parts

  7. Helping conduct DOT inspections

  8. General shop cleanup and maintenance

  9. Document and record all work completed 

  10. Any and all additional tasks assigned to you by management

 

All applicants MUST have:

  1. Must be able to regularly bend over, lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand on your feet for extended periods of time

  2. A valid MT driver’s license (Class B Preferred but not required)

  3. The ability to pass pre-employment physical exam

  4. The ability to pass a controlled substances test

  5. A High school diploma, GED or HS equivalent

  6. At least 2 years of relevant mechanical experience

  7. Some form of specialized training accreditation in Diesel Engine repair (ASE Certification preferred but not required)

  8. General experience and understanding of safety practices and procedures

  9. General Computer Knowledge (Experience with ShopMonkey is preferred but not required)

  10. Must have required, standard tools expected of a Diesel Mechanic

  11. A good work ethic and willingness to work independently

Diesel Mechanic II

You will independently preform skilled mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on automotive, HD equipment, trucks, and power equipment. You will take detailed notes of work completed and take regular stock of inventory. You will be expected to keep your general area safe and clean while also helping coworkers with additional tasks as needed.

We are looking for a Mechanic who specializes in working on heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, and regular vehicle maintenance. A DTS HD Truck Mechanic will be responsible for:

  1. Diagnosing engine problems 

  2. Diagnosing computer systems

  3. Maintaining drive trains, oil systems, and transmissions 

  4. Inspecting and repairing air brakes 

  5. Conducting performance tests 

  6. Replacing defective parts

  7. Conduct DOT inspections

  8. General shop cleanup and maintenance

  9. Document and record all work completed 

  10. Maintain adequate inventory levels

  11. Estimate cost and time of services

  12. Schedule customers for services

  13. Any and all additional tasks assigned to you by management

  14. Organize and Prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines

 

All applicants MUST have:

  12. Must have required, standard tools expected of a Diesel Mechanic

  13. A good work ethic and ability to work independently

Diesel Mechanic III

You will independently preform skilled mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on automotive, HD equipment, trucks, and power equipment. You will take detailed notes of work completed and take regular stock of inventory. You will be expected to keep your general area safe and clean while also helping coworkers with additional tasks as needed. You will be expected to supervise all other mechanics and maintain shop safety compliance.

We are looking for a Mechanic who specializes in working on heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, and regular vehicle maintenance. A DTS HD Truck Mechanic will be responsible for:

  1. Diagnosing engine problems 

  2. Diagnosing computer systems

  3. Maintaining drive-trains, oil systems, and transmissions 

  4. Inspecting and repairing air brakes 

  5. Conducting performance tests 

  6. Replacing defective parts

  7. Conduct DOT inspections

  8. General shop cleanup and maintenance

  9. Document and record all work completed, review and verify all completed jobs and write up the detailed work orders

  10. Provide and update fleet and vehicle maintenance reports for customers

  11. Maintain adequate inventory levels by reviewing and ordering necessary parts and supplies for the shop

  12. Estimate cost and time of services

  13. Review and make suggestions for hourly price changes to maintain profitability and competitiveness 

  14. Schedule customers for services and ensure the calendar is both accurate and up to date at all times

  15. Assign additional tasks to staff

  16. Organize and Prioritize work assignments issued to staff to meet deadlines

  17. Ensure the Shop remains in compliance with all local and federal safety regulations

  18. Keep current, detailed and accurate service records on all DTS vehicles and equipment

  19. Ensure staff remain in compliance with Human Resources requirements

  20. Assist upper-management with additional tasks as needed

 

All applicants MUST have:

  2. A valid MT Class A driver’s license 

  3. Must be forklift operator certified or must obtain certificate within 30 days of employment

  7. At least 6 years of relevant mechanical experience

  8. At least 2 years of supervisory experience

  9. Welding and fabrication experience required

  10. Some form of specialized training accreditation in Diesel Engine repair (Master ASE Certification required)

  11. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of computerized and standard diagnostic tools and repair software

  12. Advanced experience and understanding of safety practices and procedures (DOT, OSHA and MT Labor compliance)

  13. Basic understanding of human resources requirements and compliance

  14. Advanced Computer Knowledge (Experience with ShopMonkey or its equivalent is required)

  15. Advanced knowledge working with an inventory software

  16. Must have good leadership skills and attention to detail

  17. Must have required, standard tools expected of a Diesel Mechanic

  18. A good work ethic and ability to work independently

  19. Willingness to continue your education and keep updated on the latest industry advancements and standards
